Fugro Multi Client Services (FMCS) recently appointed Dr Patricio Silva Gonzalez as Chief Geologist and Paul Rheinberg as Business Development Manager.

Gonzalez and Rheinberg will be responsible for new project generation and the sale and marketing of non-exclusive seismic data projects to the oil and gas industry.

Gonzalez has an extensive history with Fugro, joining Fugro Robertson Ltd, North Wales, UK in 2006 as a Sedimentologist/Reservoir Geologist where he participated in and conducted studies in areas such as North West Europe, North Africa, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and India, including well-data analyses, seismic stratigraghy and sequence stratigraphy exercises.

In 2009 Gonzalez transferred to Fugro Robertson BV in the Netherlands as Project Manager-Sedimentology where he supported the manager in business development and technical work and after one year was promoted to Chief Sedimentologist. Gonzalez guided block and basin-wide studies in South America and Southeast Asia, working with different data sets in different lithologies and tectonic settings.

"In my new role as Chief Geologist at FMCS, I'm looking forward to applying my regional geological knowledge to the North West Shelf and other major oil and gas basins in Australia and Asia Pacific. My experience in exploration, reservoir geology and geological reservoir characterisation studies will provide valuable geological input for project generation", Gonzalez said.

Rheinberg brings 14 years of experience to FMCS; most recently six years at IHS as Australasian Regional Manager and three years at Deloitte Petroleum Services as Senior Regional Manager.

During this time Rheinberg looked after all aspects of each company's Australasian data. This included raising industry awareness of the different products and services, improving data quality and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of data to clients.

"I'm looking forward to applying these skills in a new and challenging role as Business Development Manager at FMCS, where my regional knowledge of projects and company activity will provide a solid foundation for marketing our already extensive dataset and provide the basis for identifying new projects", said Rheinberg.
